Statement regarding BodaxGaming

VCD

TL;DR

BodaxGaming retirement and Challengers spot procedure

Ruling

The league does not typically issue public statements regarding individual organizations. In this instance, however, we consider it necessary to provide clarification in the interest of transparency and to prevent potential misunderstandings.

Over an extended period, the league received reports concerning BodaxGaming and reviewed them in line with established procedures and the applicable regulatory framework. Each matter was assessed individually and in the broader context of league operations. The evaluation focused on whether the reported issues constituted breaches of competition rules or governance requirements. This process ensured that all decisions were based on objective criteria and consistent application of league standards. At the same time, it became evident that differing views existed regarding professional standards, responsibilities, and operational processes within the league environment. The league places great importance on constructive cooperation with all participating organizations in order to ensure a stable and sustainable competitive ecosystem.

After the team’s match on Saturday, BodaxGaming decided to release its roster and subsequently informed the league today of its intention to cease operations with immediate effect. In this context, it is important to reiterate a fundamental principle: Challengers league slots are assigned to organizations and are not transferable assets. In the event of an organizational withdrawal, the slot automatically reverts to the league in accordance with established regulations. This framework is designed to safeguard competitive integrity and to ensure that all participants meet the required organizational standards. As a result BodaxGaming will no longer be part of Challengers DACH.

To provide the affected players with a pathway forward, the league has granted a transition period during which they may seek representation under an eligible organization. Subject to approval, they will be permitted to compete in relegation to defend their Challengers position. A core of at least three out of the previous five players must remain intact to maintain eligibility.

This situation highlights the importance of reliable structures and professional governance within esports. The league will continue to uphold these standards to ensure a fair and stable environment for teams, players, and fans alike.

We thank all parties for their cooperation to date and wish the players every success in their future endeavors.
