Okay Garmin 2.0 to forfeit PRO SERIES
Unfortunately, we have to announce Okay Garmin 2.0's inability to complete the ongoing PRO SERIES split today. We would like to provide our community with some context regarding this decision.
Following the fourth matchday against AIGHT, Okay Garmin 2.0 player ‘vLn’ left the PROJECT V PRO SERIES Discord server, blocked his teammates and deactivated or deleted his X (Twitter) account.
The team immediately reached out to league officials in search of a solution. However, as one player had already left earlier in the split, the team had already used their available roster transfer to register 'vLn'. Due to his sudden departure, the team is no longer able to field a valid starting roster and consequently all of their past and future matches will be considered forfeits.
While we sympathise with the situation, granting an additional transfer during the ongoing split would set a harmful precedent for future cases. In order to maintain the integrity of the league, exceptions cannot be made in this regard. However, to support Okay Garmin 2.0 and all other teams facing relegation, we will provide an additional transfer specifically for the relegation phase.
We have also decided against promoting another team to the PRO SERIES at this stage, since more than half of the matchdays (four out of seven) have already been completed. This would penalise Okay Garmin 2.0 twice by removing their relegation opportunity in addition to already not being able to complete the split.
While we understand the emotions involved in professional esports, we must also emphasise accountability. Through his actions, 'vLn' damaged the competitive integrity of the league and let down his teammates. Our ecosystem is designed to help players develop both competitively and professionally. As we have reiterated in the past, actions have consequences, and players must recognise the impact their decisions have on others.
Following direct outreach and brief correspondence with vLn, he provided an explanation for his departure, but it lacked sufficient clarity and supporting evidence. As no verifiable justification has been presented, we must uphold our responsibility to ensure fairness and consistency. Therefore, we will move forward with the necessary steps to safeguard the integrity of the league.
Accordingly, we are excluding 'vLn' from all PROJECT V activities until PRO SERIES Split 1 concludes in 2026.
While this outcome is disappointing for the team, we believe that this decision best protects the long-term stability and fairness of our ecosystem. Finally, we would like to thank the remaining Okay Garmin 2.0 players and staff for their professionalism and respect throughout this process. We wish them all the best moving forward.
