Sanction against AIGHT
We had hoped to conclude our first PRO SERIES playoffs without the need for disciplinary measures. Unfortunately, today's events have forced our hand. The incidents outlined below are considered detrimental to the competitive integrity of the league and to the professional standard that we are striving to establish.
AIGHT previously experienced difficulties in submitting a valid line-up for the final regular matchday on 10th October. While they ultimately managed to register a line-up at the last moment and participate, this issue had already raised concerns. On 14th October, AIGHT informed the league administration that they would not be able to compete due to being unable to field a line-up. Given that the team has five registered players and two substitutes, we requested clarification on how such a situation could arise for matches that were scheduled and announced weeks in advance.
The team explained that they had replaced 'eleo' with 'drog' during the regular season for personal reasons, and that they considered their roster incomplete as a result. For today's playoffs match, another core player was unavailable, meaning they would have to use a substitute - a situation they viewed as rendering their roster 'non-competitive'. Furthermore, AIGHT had the opportunity to transfer a player following their qualification for the playoffs, but failed to do so by the designated deadline.
To summarize: AIGHT could have played but actively decided against it because they felt their lineup wasn't good enough.
As a league, we cannot accept a team choosing not to compete. Not only did AIGHT initially misrepresent their situation by claiming an inability to field a line-up, they also made a deliberate decision to withdraw. This behavior undermines the integrity of the league, shows disrespect to their scheduled opponents, discredits the efforts of all other participating teams and their supporters, and knowingly accepts potential harm to the product we are working to build.
We acknowledge that competing with a weakened line-up can be frustrating and may affect competitive confidence. However, withdrawing from the competition goes against the spirit of competition and the mutual respect that defines professional play. As it is not possible to determine which members of the team were responsible for the decision not to compete, this sanction applies to all of its players. Accordingly, the league has decided on the following disciplinary action:
AIGHT is hereby disqualified from the ongoing PRO SERIES playoffs, and all seven registered players are suspended from PROJECT V PRO SERIES 2026 - Split 1.
As the official slot owner of the AIGHT organisation, Lame retains full authority to rebuild and register a new roster under the existing team name, thereby maintaining their PRO SERIES slot. This decision acknowledges his official ownership and ensures continuity within the competition structure. However, Lame himself will not be eligible to participate as a player during PROJECT V PRO SERIES 2026 - Split 1.
